Families Join us for Jubilee Celebrations
Like many people across England, the staff and residents of Hazelwell Care Home joined in with the celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Prior to the weekend, we prepared Hazelwell by ensuring we were fully stocked up on drinks, fizz, ice cream, afternoon tea treats, and plenty of flags. Even our head housekeeper Sue was fully prepared for the festivities!
Friends, family, and members of the community joined us over the sunny June bank holiday to celebrate The Queen as she became the first British Monarch to experience a Platinum Jubilee after 70 incredible years of service.
The warm weather allowed us to make the most of our landscaped garden and outdoor areas, and host a party for 60+ families. All of our guests were able to spend quality time together, something that we have not been able to do as well over the last couple of years due to the pandemic.
Residents, guests, and staff all enjoyed delicious food, wonderful musical entertainment, and the chance to raise a toast to The Queen. As a special surprise, residents and their guests were able to even meet 'The Queen' herself as she popped by to join in on the fun. The Queen enjoyed a drink, danced with residents, and even had time to make a speech.
Our residents thoroughly enjoyed spending time with their loved ones, celebrating and marking such a wonderful historical moment together.
The Queen has ruled for longer than any other Monarch in British history, becoming a much-loved and respected figure within our community and across the globe, and we are delighted that we were able to be a part of such a momentous event.
We thoroughly enjoyed getting involved and celebrating Her Majesty’s reign. If you would like to know more about the activities programme we provide every week for our residents, get in touch with our friendly team who will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
