The sun shone brightly over The Hazelwell Care Home this month as the much-anticipated Hazelfest 2 returned, bigger and better than ever! A vibrant celebration of community, music, and shared joy, the festival brought together residents, families, staff, and local vendors for an unforgettable day.

Simon shared the recent story of a resident who arrived at The Hazelwell after a prolonged hospital stay. The hospital staff held little hope for a long or fulfilling life for this individual, due to severe health challenges. Yet, through the combined efforts of the entire Hazelwell team – from the nurses providing exceptional wound care to the kitchen assistants ensuring clean pots for the chefs to prepare nutritious meals – this resident has experienced a remarkable transformation.
Today, this resident actively participates in group activities, spends time socialising, and enjoys family visits whenever they wish. Their health has dramatically improved, and most importantly, they're creating new memories with their loved ones, including attending Hazelfest 2.

The success of Hazelfest 2 underscores the importance of creating positive experiences and having a strong sense of community within the care home. Residents relished the opportunity to spend time outdoors, enjoying the sunshine and engaging in meaningful social interactions.
