Introducing our Gayton Nursing Community
We would like to introduce you to the brand new additional unit at our care home in Wirral, the Gayton Nursing Community. Named after the local neighbourhood of Gayton, we have created this community within our home to support residents with nursing needs, who have a variety of physical conditions.
Designed to accommodate up to 20 residents, the unit includes state-of-the-art en-suite bedrooms, which have been fitted with profiling beds, specialist mattresses, and handling equipment. Residents also have specialist bath and shower facilities readily available to them.
The Gayton Nursing Community offers a warm and friendly place to live, with care provided by professional staff and hotel standard furnishings. The rest of the unit is comprised of a Lounge, Dining Room, and direct access to an enclosed Solarium. Located on the first floor, the unit also benefits from an abundance of natural sunlight and boasts picturesque views of the estuary and North East Wales.
The Nursing team is headed up by our Clinical Lead, Jo Hunt, who is supported by a team of qualified nurses and care assistants, all with many years of clinical experience and training behind them. The community also has a trained nurse available 24 hours a day to monitor the physical and mental wellbeing of our residents, and so that residents can rest assured that no matter what time of day it is, someone is always there for them.
In addition to the care we provide, we also work closely with our local GP practice, who come to the home on a weekly basis to visit all our residents to holistically assess their conditions and needs.
To further support the exceptional work our Nursing team does, the unit also benefits from an Activities Coordinator who puts together a person-centred programme of activities in association with Oomph! on Demand, and a Wellbeing Coordinator who promotes nutrition, hydration, and the overall wellbeing of our residents.
Nutrition and dietary requirements are also ensured for each resident thanks to our team of chefs who are trained in specialist diets and work tirelessly to put together a well-balanced, high-standard menu for all to enjoy.
At Hazelwell, we are extremely proud of the varied care we offer, and the range of conditions we can provide support for including Motor Neurone Disease, Brain and Head Injury, and Muscular Dystrophy among many others. Our home has recently been awarded the Gold Standard for quality, person-centred End of Life Care, and we continue to strive for high standards in everything we do.
If you would like to find out more information about the care and facilities we offer, then please don't hesitate to get in touch with a member of our friendly team.
