The Launch of our Singing Café

Hazelwell residents singing karaoke

The Hazelwell Care Home is delighted to have recently launched its Singing Café initiative, which will continue to take place every Thursday morning at 11am right here at our care home in Heswall, Merseyside.

We place great importance on providing our residents with varied activities and events that are in line with their interests but that also offer something new for them to try. We have introduced our Singing Café as a way of enhancing the wellbeing of our residents and offering those in our local community a place where they can pop in for a hot drink and a sing-a-long.

The sessions will feature entertainment with popular songs from the 1950s to the 1980s, and song sheets are provided for people to join in if they wish. As well as providing enjoyment and supporting the wellbeing of our residents, the café also provides great reminiscence as we perform resident favourites from years gone by.

Residents and their loved ones are all welcome to join in and we even take requests on what songs can be sung. Song lists are prepared in advance with lyrics available for those who need some extra help remembering the words.

The singing is for all abilities and with a bit of dancing too, we aim to provide our residents and communities with a happy and chatty environment to meet friends, engage in song and dance, or sit back and enjoy the music.

Our first session was a great success and we look forward to welcoming more people to join us in the following weeks.

Whether attendees wish to participate in the singing or just come along to watch and socialise with our residents, we welcome all with open arms and would love for as many people as possible to join us. If you would like further information regarding our Singing Café or daily life at The Hazelwell Care Home, then we welcome you to get in touch with our friendly team.
