The Hazelwell Care Home is proud to offer a wide range of premium facilities available as well as a stimulating activity programme that all residents are encouraged to get involved with. Delivering only the highest quality of supportive care, allows residents to shift focus from daily routines and worries, to being able to enjoy as many hobbies and activities as desired.

Our Activity Coordinator strives to develop a programme that all individuals can enjoy, and present a variety of hobbies and activities to choose from. Each week, residents are able to select an activity/activities where they could find themselves spending the day gardening, socialising with friends during coffee mornings, or stretching their legs and enjoying the beautiful countryside views that Heswall has to offer.

All activities and games are developed in collaboration with our residents to ensure The Hazelwell Care Home is providing a variety of exciting and motivating activities that can be enjoyed by all; staying active and living a fulfilled life is essential to staying happy and healthy, regardless of age or physical ability.

We have an experienced and dedicated team of Activity Coordinators who ensure that an active and social calendar is always available; they take the time to get to know every one of our residents so they are able to facilitate every interest. We encourage residents to invite their friends and family to visit and join in with activities on a regular basis, as well as take the time to indulge in a peaceful solo activity.

Activities can range from trips out to local attractions, gardening, shopping, coffee and quiz mornings, arts and crafts, sing-a-longs, cocktail or wine evenings, and music events – there really is something for all tastes. The list goes on, and continues to grow with each resident suggestion.

Come rain or shine, The Hazelwell Care Home has plenty of comfortable communal rooms where everyone can get together and have a great time, from monthly book clubs to weekly arts and crafts sessions, we want nothing more than to make every day as interesting and exciting as the next.

The Hazelwell Care Home also offers a chauffeur-driven Mercedes available to residents, to and from their desired destination, at no extra cost.

Full Activities Programme & Day Trips

Our Full Activities programme is bursting with a variety of activities that allow residents to continue doing the hobbies and activities they enjoy. Social events, entertainment, and activities are planned to guarantee that there is something exciting and entertaining to do on a daily basis. The Hazelwell Care Home often participates in local events as a way of helping the local community or making visits to local schools and nurseries.

We regularly invite our local pet therapy to visit us, so residents never miss the opportunity to cuddle with some adorable, well-behaved pooches. Interacting with a friendly pet has been shown to lower blood pressure and enhance general cardiovascular health while also releasing endorphins, which have a relaxing impact.

Our strong links with the surrounding community has allowed us to build some wonderful relationships with local schools and nurseries, where visits in and out of the home are a regular occurrence. We also enjoy regular visits from our local Pet Therapy and volunteers. Residents have a variety of options for maintaining or forming new relationships with their neighbours.

Performers are always welcomed here at The Hazelwell Care Home, with both residents and staff being able to enjoy a performance by local entertainers. Whether the entertainment brings them back to their youth, or has them up on their feet dancing, the entertainment always goes down a treat and is extremely popular.

We also host a variety of day trips, so for residents looking to spend a day out can also go to the local theatre or museum with the help of our Activity Coordinators.

We have a special team of activity planners who ensure that there is always an active and sociable programme prepared. Taking the time to get to know each of our residents allows us to ensure that there are activities for every preference. Our full activities programme is bursting with a wide range of 1:1 and group activities for residents to select from, which continues to grow with each resident and guest suggestion.
