The Hazelwell Care Home, Wirral

The Hazelwell Care Home and The Wirral Area

At The Hazelwell Care Home, we’re proud to call the beautiful area of Wirral, Cheshire our home. Wirral, or The Wirral Peninsula as it’s sometimes known, is located in between North Wales and Liverpool and has a lot to offer.

Wirral overlooks the stunning Welsh hillsides and slopes, as well as both the River Dee and the River Mersey, and has become a popular UK location when it comes to spending some well-needed time outside. From cosy, traditional pubs to a variety of walking trails, Wirral is often seen as an ambler’s paradise.

Residents in nursing homes and care homes in Wirral can go for walks along the coast for amazing wildlife and picturesque views, and you’ll see in no time that Wirral truly has it all. Fast train and bus links make it incredibly simple to get around Wirral, and sometimes it’s even simpler to take the Mersey Ferry, which always stops at the Woodside and Seacombe ferry ports if you’d like to do a little bit more exploring.

Nursing homes and care homes in Wirral are close to a spectacular 25-mile coastline making for a superb setting for a fun day out with the whole family.

Although Wirral is home to some of the best wildlife in the country, it’s also home to some of the region’s best restaurants and food manufacturers. Enjoy delectable delights at a variety of local Michelin-starred restaurants, unwind in a classic traditional gastropub, or meet some of Wirral’s food heroes and sample some of their local goods at one of Wirral’s many, many farm shops or farmers’ markets.

The Activities Coordinators at our care home have planned numerous trips, including visits to the incredible collection of art and treasures on show at The Lady Lever Art Gallery situated in Port Sunlight, and have always received excellent reviews from each and every resident.
